Jennifer Buckley is a literary historian with particular interests in periodical studies, sociability, and the material text. She is the co-editor of Character and Caricature, 1660–1820 (in production) and is completing a book titled Periodicalism, Fiction and the Novel, 1700–1760: Ecologies of Print for Edinburgh University Press.

On Theatronomics, her work focuses on performers’ salaries and career trajectories, paying particular attention to questions of celebrity and the gender pay gap. She is also interested in the relationship between news and the repertory, specifically how the theatrical calendar responds to military affairs.
